SCNY ED Group: Affordable Care Act Overview for Your Nonprofit and City Council Presentation

SCNY ED Group: Affordable Care Act for Nonprofits

What's Next for Groups with Less than 50 Employees?

Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM

Cub Care Children's Center
Recess Resource, Inc.
201 Main Street
Vestal, NY 13850
Presented by Peter Andrew, CEO, Council Services Plus (Subsidiary of the New York Council of Nonprofits) December 17, 2013  9:00am to 10:30pm
The Affordable Care Act certainly has most of us scratching our heads. Staggered implementation dates, last minute delays, multi-page IRS, DOL & HHS guidance documents and the creation of new (and hopefully affordable) small group and individual options has us all searching our "radio dials" for WIIFM (What's In It For Me).

The Lawyers and Policy Wonks have inundated us with large group mandate guidance, but most Nonprofits are small and it's time for someone to tell them what this all means for the nonprofit who employs less than 50 employees and does not have the same mandates or expectations as your larger counterparts.

This Program will explore the options that will be available beginning onJanuary 1, 2014 to small groups. Participants will get up to date on the current status of the New York Health Exchange and how to compare those options with what is currently in place (or available at renewal). In addition, we'll touch on the notices your employees may need to receive about the new exchange and how an employee may compare your offering(s) to what is available to them through the new individual exchange. The rates are out so you'll be able to use real numbers to see what this means to your nonprofit's budget and your staff.

Join us for this important, timely and free program. We are sure there will be many questions asked and lively discussion with your nonprofit peers!
